Core States Group has been named one of Electrical Construction & Maintenance’s (EC&M) 2026 Top 40 Electrical Design Firms for the seventh year. The annual ranking recognizes firms delivering high-performing electrical systems and innovative infrastructure projects across the country.

This recognition reflects the strength of our electrical design team and their experience delivering coordinated solutions for complex, power-intensive facilities. EC&M also notes that industry growth continues to be driven by increasing demand for data centers, electrification, microgrids, energy storage, and resilient power infrastructure.

In addition to recognizing Core States Group among its Top 40 firms, EC&M highlighted one of our notable electrification projects: the first publicly accessible medium- and heavy-duty truck charging station supported by a microgrid solution for TravelCenters of America.

Located in Ontario, CA, the facility supports freight electrification through four 400-kilowatt chargers, two 750-kilowatt chargers, a 250-kilowatt solar canopy, one megawatt-hour of battery energy storage, and distributed generation infrastructure.

The integrated design balances high-power charging with on-site generation and energy storage to improve system resiliency while helping address grid constraints.

EC&M’s report also points to growing demand for resilient electrical design as organizations evaluate alternatives to traditional grid power, underscoring the increasing value of proactive energy strategies and Core States Group’s expanding microgrid experience.
