Core States provided full services to convert a basement and first-floor of an existing two-story office building into a new McDonald’s restaurant. The first floor provided only enough space to accommodate the kitchen and dining room. All other storage, refrigerators/freezers, and back of house elements had to be incorporated into a basement with limited ceiling height.
The solution: excavation to underpin the basement slab; coordination to fit pipes, conduits, and ducts into a limited interstitial space; exhaust through a chase to the roof; and sound proofing all without impact to the existing structure. Add in ADA issues for different access levels and structural upgrades to support rooftop equipment and you have anything but a typical 'rollout'. When you look at the building from the outside you’d have no hint of what took place on the inside and that’s just the way we like it.
